As a teenager, I worked part-time after school at my father's medical office. Later, I worked at
the local county hospital in the operating room part-time. As the owner of a multi-lines insurance agency in SC, specializing in financial planning and disability insurance matters, I dealt on a daily basis with the realities of unexpected disabilities and helped many of my clients plan ahead to build a nest egg for the risks of suddenly becoming disabled and unable to continue working.

I decided to go to law school and specialize in helping folks by representing folks with disabling conditions and impairments, so in 1997, I began studying law and in 2001, graduated from British-American University School of Law.

I petitioned to practice before Social Security, and was admitted in April, 2001. I have been representing clients in Social Security Disability cases since. In 2003, I had a client who not only needed help with her Social Security case, but she was also treated unfairly by her employer who violated her employment rights. It was then that I filed a petition to practice before the US Dept.
of Labor. And in February, 2004, I was admitted to practice before the US Dept. of Labor.

Subsequently, I was not only able to help my client with her Social Security case, but I also was able to help her to receive and maintain her health and retirement benefits under COBRA and
ERISA, and helped protect her rights under FMLA, as well.
